Virtual London Grows once more
Metaversum, developer of Twinity, the virtual world made of real people and real places, is adding new areas to Virtual London on 30 April. From the interiors of St Paul’s Cathedral, a live show from ‘Dimitri from Paris’ to a weekend full of events, there will be something for everybody in Virtual London.
Berlin, 29 April 2010 – After successfully expanding Central London to areas including the Buckingham Palace and the London Eye, Twinity, the virtual world made of real people and real places, is expanding once more to bring in the majestic Strand and the vibrant South Bank to Virtual London’s members and entrepreneurs.
From 30 April on Twinity members will be able to walk from the west end of London along The Strand, among some of the most famous theatres right up to the Millennium Bridge, on to the South Bank to the Shakespeare’s globe, the brick work Tate modern building and back to the Waterloo Bridge.
As a special attraction the entire interior of the St Paul’s Cathedral will be made available, enabling all members to view the great dome with all its artwork from the inside. The model will also have reproduction of all the areas, artwork and sculptures present in the Cathedral.
To celebrate this launch there will be a 30 minute live performance by DJ ‘Dimitri from Paris’ in Virtual London. Known for broadcasting the first ever house music show in France and for producing runway tracks for Chanel, Jean-Paul Gaultier, to name a few, Dimitri will be showcasing tracks from his upcoming album ‘Get Down with the Philly sound’. Twinity users will get a taste of the album before it’s launched to the world.
Twinity will also have a special offer: 5 entrepreneurs or residents based in and around the newly launched areas can win their virtual office, store or apartment at the same address in Virtual London! Real residents should just send their name and real address to london@twinity.com. Of course, these new areas in Virtual London are also open for business: opening a shop, gallery, music venue, bar or restaurant has never had hipper venues in Virtual London.

After a 2 week absence from Twinity, I was surprised this past weekend to find a lot of new content that had been added to the game. One of the most surprising and outstanding new additions I discovered is Twinity’s new virtual location, Palmadora, Ibiza. I became so impressed by what I saw on my first visit that I had to return and take screenshots for this pictorial, which I present to you below:

Avatar of the Day: Fashion Designers
Today we want to dedicate our post to the first Fashion Designers to present their collection in Twinity! Evolast, Helen and Vampire Queen showcased the clothes that they have been working on during the week. It was the perfect opportunity for other Twinizens to send them offers to have a very exclusive design and we are glad the Designers got a nice reward from their good job!

Evolast appeared today in front of the Brandenburg Gate with this amazing outfit and we had to take a picture of it! He showed us the different clothes he has been designing and promised he will jump up in the catwalk in front of everyone with them on in the R U Creative?!?! Event this Friday! Now that he can be a Fashion Designer in Twinity, we have the impression he can make a living in our world!

We have just updated Twinity!
Dear Twinizens,
We have just updated to a new version of Twinity!
Here is an overview of the new fixes:
– Giving gifts to multiple people is now improved and you can also drag and drop gifts.
– Fullscreen mode now supports various screen proportions – try it out, Twinity in fullscreen is a different experience!
– Once again, you can change textures of the walls on your apartments with immediate effect.
– If you experience some problems with uploading a Collada model we can now provide you with a message that explains the issue faced.
– Your avatar will now be able to faultlessly walk down stairs instead of howering over them.
– The behavior of some tool tips has been improved.
– On hitting the F4 button while teleporting you will not get a blue screen anymore.
– We updated the seating parameters, to ensure that your avatar can sit on any seat without a hitch.
– Various improvements and fixes were also implemented on the server side.
