From a great article over at The Guardian, there’s an examination of the “real-world boom in online cities.” There’s quite a lot about Twinity there as well.Read More

[Operations] Twinity Patch October 15, 2009
Dear Twinizens,
Some minor issues appeared after the release yesterday so we implemented a small patch today which remedies these issues. Once you restart the client, the patch will automatically run and update your client.
Thanks,
Craig
[Operations] Twinity Update October 14, 2009
Dear Twinizens,
Just wanted to let you know that we will be updating Twinity today beginning at 10:00 CET. There will be a short downtime of approximately 30 minutes associated with this release. Please note that the patching of the client will take longer than it has in the past. This is due to the fact that cache will be formatted in a different manner which means that the current cache will need to be deleted. New features and bug fixes included with this release are:
– City Minimaps and Map Layers viewable in city apartments
– Improved map default icons
– Removed mouse over yellow hightlighting on teleport objects
– Mini-Map Should Remember Selected Layer After Teleport
– Ability to start group chat
Thanks,
Craig

The first pool ever in Twinity?
At least according to the Twinity Monitor:
What’s that, you say? A pool? Yes, just like you, I didn’t know what to make of his declaration that there was now a swimming pool in Twinity.
…
But I was in for a surprise. Not only was the pool a usable object (meaning avatars could sit in it), it was filled with rippling, transparent water! As if that wasn’t amazing enough, the pool was located in the middle of a tropical paradise!
Guess where the Twinity Monitor is?
From their post:
Chances are that unless you know how to fly in Twinity, you’ve never seen this location before. Rest assured, though, that it exists. Can you guess where I am?
