R U HOT? Model Contest in Twinity

News from the Development Department

The release last week brought some nice new features and improvements which are listed: here. Unfortunately, it also came with some instabilities like patch-problems, client-freezes, connectivity issues and problems with place access management. We hope to have fixed most of these with the hot-fix patch today.

Next week we plan to release a new version of our rendering engine. It will improve the support for Collada model uploads and add the ability to have dynamic billboards in the city. Also our new female avatar is getting close to completion. All clothes and animations had to be adapted. Currently we are working on new haircuts. The avatar will have better body proportions and its animation skeleton will produce more natural movements.

One feature we have been working on in the past weeks is voice-chat. We would be very interested to hear how voice-chat works for you. Best send us a message via in-world feedback or comment to this blog-post. Thank you.

[Operations] Notes on today’s update

Dear Twinizens,

As we posted below, today’s patch focused on fixing some recent issues. Here is a short summary:

– Fixed issues with adding / deleting flatmates, as well as the “knock” feature for restricted locations
– Fixed empty place information dialog in places window
– Temporarily removed the chat window to improve stability. This will be reimplemented in the near future.
– Fixed some minor issues with “search address” and place creation on Twinity.com

Thanks,
Craig

[Operations] Twinity update Mar 17, 2009

Dear Twinizens,

We will be doing a quick update to Twinity today from 15:00 to 15:30 CET. Because this update will require a server restart, we wanted to let you know that you will be disconnected from the client sometime during this timeframe. When you restart the client, the patch will automatically run.

Thanks,

Craig

C/O Berlin presents “Talents 14”

On Friday March 13 the C/O Berlin shows “Talents 14”. Bare, sparsely furnished rooms and introverted women and girls, barely present to their surroundings – the starkly reduced photographs of Oskar Schmidt are both portraits and interiors.

Date: Friday, 13 March
Time: 19:00 Berlin, 1pm NYC, 02:00 Saturday Singapore
Where: C/O Berlin

Discuss the photos with other art lovers and get impressed by the great art work.

“Talents 14” will be presented at the same time in the real C/O Berlin.
